Chauvanistic and a complete loser otherwise, Laaddoo (Vivaan Shah in his fourth big-screen role is a likeable guy from a nondescript Madhya Pradesh town who wants to get rich quick.Laddoo (Vivaan Shah) leaves his small town and parents to work in Baroda. He joins a food joint owned by Sanjay Mishra as a steward. Laali (Akshara Haasan) is a frequent visitor there. Laddoo falls for her at first sight. Mistaking her for a wealthy heiress, Laaddoo latches onto her, pretending to be the eklauta beta (only son) of a millionaire. But Laali is only a middle-class girl seeking to make it in life on her own steam. Soon enough, she discovers the truth of Laaddoo's modest background - he is the son of a bicycle shop owner eking out an honest living. The two start dating, they go to Kashmir and incidentally, Laali becomes pregnant. They both freak out and Laddoo leaves Laali helpless with a baby bump in an urge to earn money.
A huge chasm opens up between the two. The resultant complications are far too knotted for easy comprehension. Suffice it to say that Laaddoo's estranged father (Darshan Jariwala) disowns his son and decides to play dad to Laali. Laali's alcoholic and abusive father (Saurabh Shukla), on his part, takes a shine to Laaddoo and begins to treat him like his own son. And then there is this Ranima (SuhasiniMulay) looking for a bride for the heir to a sprawling royal estate (Gurmeet Choudhary). The latter is nursing a broken heart in the aftermath of a tragedy in which he lost both his parents and the woman he loved. In a bizarre twist, the family soothsayer suggests that the prince's fortunes could change if he marries a pregnant woman.
Laali constantly reminds the world that she is no pushover. "Main thappad khaane waliladki nahin hoon," she declares before walking out on her father. We learn that Laali (Akshara Haasan) is getting married to prince Veer (Gurmeet Choudhary) while being pregnant with Laddoo’s (Vivaan Shah) child. Laddoo is tying the knot at the same venue too. His wife-to-be soon starts boring everyone with moral lectures about “doing the right thing” and confessing to Veer. This confession is just the highly generic story of how Laali met Laddoo. Things go haywire in this attempt of confession and lead up to the climax. Which you shall see when you sit through this dreadful mess.
