Benaras Mediaworks' Zid is an adaptation of the German film The Good Neighbour that tells the thrilling story of Ronnie, a crime reporter who works as a writer in a local newspaper in Goa, and his young neighbor Maya who falls obsessively in love with him. Returning from their first date one stormy night, the couple meets with an accident which results in the death of a teenage girl Nancy. Complete panic follows, as Ronnie and Maya don't know what to do next. Maya convinces Ronnie that he should report the death to the police. And that night they return home turning the accident into a hit and run case.
Following Nancy's unsolved death, her sister Priya returns back to the city to uncover the truth. Incidentally Priya is Rohan's ex-girlfriend, and owing to her proximity to him, the duo (Rohan and Maya) are roped in by the police to help solve the case. In the interim Priya's affection for Rohan is rekindled, thus making Maya insecure about her relationship.
