Tu Hai Mera Sunday is a refreshing change from the slapstick comedies and the innumerable biopics being made this year. It's a story about five friends- Arjun, Rashid, Dominic, Mehernosh and Jayesh who live in the dream city Mumbai which looks like a dream from the outside but is actually really congested and jampacked in actuality.
The five friends want to keep up the tradition of playing a game of football every Sunday and therefore forgetting their troubles and misery of everyday life on this one specific day of the week. For this ritual, they choose the Juhu beach as a spot as it is comparatively bigger.
One day, a senile old man joins their game and kicks the ball in the face of a socialite-politician who is in the middle of a press conference. As a consequence, all sports are banned at the beach. With their Sunday ritual coming to a close, each of the men is pushed into different worlds, testing their friendship and forcing them to move away from their adolescent selves to question their lives, ask what happiness means to each one of them and how far would they go to get it.
Will the five friends be able to keep up with each other and stick together even after this incident?
Will they ever be able to get their perfect Sunday together?
