Long wait gets over for children with ‘Take It Easy’, an exclusively children’s film. Bollywood is popular for making films for adults which kids too have to watch as they lack choice. However, this movie turns to be different and also delivers a strong message to its audiences. The film is straightforward in its storyline with two school boys who are persistently under parental pressure. The parents are ruthless in forcing their kids to fulfill their unfulfilled dreams and ambitions. One of the kid’s father, Joy Sengupta is a player who wants his son to follow his footsteps and become one too. When his son comes second in both, his class and race, he feels ashamed about this fact. The father nowhere pays attention to his ten year old son’s interest in studies.
The other boy’s parents are also shown forcing their dreams on their son. Raj Zutshi, the other kid’s father wants his son to become a world class runner and win a race at the Olympics. The father himself was an athlete whose career got ruined with an injury. Some love and care is bestowed on the two boys by their grandmas and grandpas (Arya and Desai). To add up further comes up the character of stone hearted school principal, Karnik, who talks about middle class people and how they are unable to afford high fees. The film can be seen as low budget version of Taare Zameen Par(2007). Lastly, the film tells the story of every family in metro cities who want their children to enter IIT, IIM or medical school and aim at achieving high goals in life.
