NH10 is a revenge drama that's definitely not for the fainthearted. It has some action packed scenes with a lot of blood and gore. If you like action and revenge dramas this is great one! But if you can't watch blood and torture then there is no way you can watch this.
The film, however, holds its path right down to the shocking final moments. NH10 is an adventurous Bollywood film that breaks the shackles of convention and is none the worse for it. Eminently watchable.
Too much drama hampers the essence of the film. Navdeep Singh nails it in the first half, but the second half lacks the same fluidity and penetration power. NH10 displays a great potential and then fails to capitalise on it.
The build-up in Navdeep Singh’s second feature is so tight, so tense, so horrifying that you can’t blink. It’s not that Anushka Sharma, who has also produced the film, is not trying hard. She is, and up to a point, she is in fine fettle.
NH10 is not a movie for the faint-hearted or those wanting a fun filmi frolic. This is a dark tale from beyond 'the aakhri mall, where democracy ends', where jeeps become beasts and where there are no dividers between hunters, hunted and haunted. NH10 is a relentless thriller you wish you could see with your eyes closed - because truly, as its song goes, chill gaye naina.
NH 10 reeks of confused storytelling. The director of NH 10 picks up a topic of relevance but fails to contextualize it. Watching NH 10, given the complexity of the story and the way it played out, seems an exercise in futility. The film makes for a frustrating watch, more so because it is such a squandered opportunity.
