Jaideep Chopra Productions and FilmyBox's ‘Maazii’ is the story of Tarun and how his past catches up with him Tarun lives with his wife, Shrishti and little daughter, Minal. The couple runs a flower boutique and is very happy.  Maazii is essentially a thriller that travels from the hills of Mussoorie to the plains of western UP. It is a story about a couple Tarun (Sumit Nijhawan) and Shrishti (Mona Wasu) who have a near perfect relationship. However, by a twist of fate, an unfortunate accident occurs which brings Tarun's life into the limelight and turns him into a hero overnight. The events that follow not only shatter the peaceful life of the family but also put them in grave danger. But when his daughter, Minal (Saanvi Sharma) is kidnapped at the hands of an unknown assailant, Tarun will stop at nothing to get her back safely. He must now return to his roots and find out whom wreaking havoc in his life is and what the motive behind it is!

However fate had another plan, one day, two hoodlums, Satinder Rathi and Satinder Bhati try to rape a foreigner in Tarun's boutique because of which he kills them. The police office investigating the killings, Gulab Singh, rules that both deaths were in self defense, thus dismissing the case. But Tarun's paternal uncle finds out about the deaths and spills the beans in front of Tarun's unsuspecting wife.

Incidently Tarun's uncle is also found murdered, while Shrishti walks out with Minal tagging along. Later even as Tarun tries to figure a way of keeping them together and living a normal life with his daughter, she is kidnapped. These revelations form the rest of the story!
