The movie failed to create an impact on the audience as both the script and the dialogues were poor. The film also employs jokes that have been handed down from generations. After 109 minutes of excruciating film viewing, we learnt that the “fools” in the title of the film was probably suggestive of the people watching it.
You keep wanting this film to ‘ho ja shuru’, but ‘Kaagaz Ke Fools’ doesn’t have the feet for it. A film so bereft of any plot or sense that you wonder how it got made. The story is cut-rate. The sets are shabby. So is the acting. Even if films get made to pay the bills, do we not expect a base minimum from actors who’ve delivered in the past?
The title suggests that the film could be a dark quirky comedy but that's not the case. In fact, for the longest time, you wonder what the point of this film is. When you have a talented bunch of actors like Pathak and Saurabh Shukla, you expect the film to have some meaning. Amidst all the chaos and disagreements, you keep looking for a reason behind the story but fail to find one. Unfortunately, poor script and a tedious execution mar the intent.
