Chinar Daastaan-E-Ishq, directed By Sharique Minhaj, is the first Bollywood movie in 25 years to portray Jammu and Kashmir without violence. This film has been shot on the locations of Kashmir & Mumbai. The film is a romantic love story based on the novel ‘Jheel Jalti Hai’ (Lake is on fire) written by retired civil servant Renzu Shah. The main character ‘Jamal’ in the movie is played by Faisal Khan(brother of Aamir Khan) who loves Inayat Sharma, but is rejected by her parents for being a muslim. It is one of the most effective, heart-rending stories which covers all the facets of Kashmir.
